a ministry designed to aid those 43 and beyond in navigating the transitions of midlife and retirement. As baby boomers approach retirement, deal with an empty nest, and feel the unsettledness of wanting more out of life and relationships many of us are asking... "WHAT"S NEXT?"
Whether we are empty-nesters, or just stopping to reflect on our lives we wrestle with, "WHO AM I?"
Restless in careers we wonder "IS THERE SOMETHING MORE I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH?"
Spiritually we are ready to ask God, "WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE FOR THIS NEXT SEASON OF MY LIFE?"
MIDLIFE MOMENTUM provides a process using retreats, seminars, intensive classes or spiritual formation groups to help us see the power and creativity, the hope and possibilities of living into this new season with SPIRIT-GUIDED INTENTIONALITY.
Dr. Charles Arn, at a conference on aging and wellness stated, "In the last 90 years God has added 30 years to the average life span." He then posed the question, "If God is the author of life, why has he given us these 30 years?" That question, plus my own midlife wrestling launched me onto a midlife journey of searching for God's design and purpose in my life, and helping others in their search as well.
The Scriptures which guide the process are:
1 Corinthians 15:10, "By the grace of God I am who I am, and God's grace to me has not been in vain."
And Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
This process for navigating midlife transitions involves the following steps:
- Life reflection exercises, which enable us to see how God has been at work throughout our lives, in the good times and hard, shaping and forming in us character and strength.
- Sharing our stories, to discover how much we have in common and how we can encourage one another to become all God has created us to be.
- Developing a mission and vision statement for the next season of our lives, because Ephesians 2:10 tells us we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.
- Living intentionally with JOY as we discern that greater purpose and meaning in life.
Midlife Momentum helps us to:
Move from Fears to Courage
Focus on Gains rather than Losses
Acknowledge the Pain, but embrace the Pleasures
Refuse to Become Less and Choose to Become More
Wrestle with Doubts, while growing in Faith.
Midlife Momentum Ministries is committed to helping people find their "Sweet Spot," that place in life where they know they are living out of their God-given personalities, passions, gifts, callings and dreams.
